Senior Portraits!

If you’re here you probably have a junior or senior that is about to take their final steps into adulthood. It’s a big deal, we’ve been through it with our kids. We wanted them to have images that remind them of all the fond memories they will be talking about years from now. We have experience in capturing the essence of an individual, regardless of their interests. Whether it’s sports, music, clubs, video gaming, or any other hobby/skill, we strive to showcase unique personalities through our photography. Many Seniors don’t realize how important these things are yet, but a session with us is a great way to capture the special moments and memories of a student's final year of high school.

Our packages start at $300, but are customizable and can include a variety of photography services, such as portrait sessions, action photos, and candid shots that showcase the senior's personality and interests. One of the key benefits of our senior photo packages is that we offer a convenient way for students to create a personalized keepsake of their high school experience. With the help of our photographers, seniors can choose their favorite poses, locations, and outfits to ensure that their photos reflect their unique style and personality. In addition to traditional portrait sessions, many of our senior photo packages also include creative options like themed shoots, which allow seniors to showcase their hobbies, interests, or future aspirations. For example, a senior who loves music might choose to have their photo taken with their favorite instrument, in front of a music-themed backdrop, singing with a mic on stage, or with music sheets falling all around them.  If they are a part of a Marching band or a dancer, they may want to showcase their moves. Similarly, a senior who plans to study abroad might opt for a travel-themed shoot that captures their adventurous spirit. If they are gamers they may opt for a gaming system backdrop, or if they are academic competitors, they may want to showcase this with a unique equation-riddled backdrop. We make sure to capture whatever it is that sets them apart so that everyone can appreciate it.

Our senior photo packages include a variety of print and digital options, which allow students to share their photos with family and friends. These options may include high-quality prints, digital copies, and custom photo albums or books.  All of our packages include social media-ready versions of the photos, which can be easily shared on platforms like Instagram or Facebook. Of course, one of the biggest advantages of senior photo packages is the opportunity to work with high-quality equipment. Unlike someone with a smartphone, we have the skills and equipment needed to capture stunning, high-quality images that can be enlarged without sacrificing quality.

We also have the experience and expertise to offer creative suggestions and advice, such as how to pose, what to wear, and where to shoot.  It's important to choose a photographer whose style and approach align with your vision.  Whether you’re looking for traditional portraits or more personalized, creative options, parents and seniors can work with us to create a keepsake that they'll treasure for years to come.

Senior Photos: Tips and tricks

Pick the Perfect Outfit

Choose clothing that shows your style.  Consider textures, layers, and accessories.  These are elements that bring depth to the photographs without detracting from the central focus. Accessories showing off accomplishments, your unique identity, or your persona will make the photos mean more to you in the future.

Select timeless outfits, avoid overly trendy pieces that may not age well.  Think about color schemes and complementing your skin tones, eye color, and hair color.  Also, consider how the clothes will look in the setting where the pictures will be taken. Perhaps you want to wear a gown during a walk in the forest to give the impression of a faerie, or maybe you want to have a memory of yourself on a sports field in your uniform.

Consider Your Location

The choice of locale for your senior portrait session is pivotal.  It sets the stage  where your personal story unfolds. Select a setting that speaks to your personality and life experiences. It should resonate with your personal journey, imbuing the images with authenticity and depth.

Places of significance, whether it's a childhood playground or a favored study spot, contribute layers of context to your portraits, offering a silent, yet powerful narrative.  Urban landscapes can offer a dynamic backdrop, presenting textures and structures that juxtapose elegance and grit, reflecting your multifaceted nature.  Natural settings often provide a serenity and openness that echo the expansive possibilities of your future, capturing the essence of personal growth alongside the beauty of the environment.

Complement Your Personality

A senior portrait is an opportunity to showcase the unique blend of personality and style that defines you. It's more than a photo—it's a personal masterpiece.

The backdrop and setting can be as eclectic or minimalistic as your character dictates. Let your environment resonate with who you are.

The perfect portrait should reflect the essence of your individuality, creating a timeless window into your personal narrative.

Incorporate props and accessories that tell your story: whether it's a musical instrument that signifies a passion or books that hint at scholarly pursuits, they enrich the narrative of your image. Tailor every element to narrate your distinct tale.

Work with Your Photographer

Cultivating a collaborative relationship with your photographer is critical to encapsulating your persona and aspirations within your portraits, ensuring the nuances of your character are intricately woven into each image.

As you prepare for your session, convey your preferences and inspirations—whether they're born from a personal attribute, a cherished hobby, or a future ambition. This will allow the photographer to tailor the experience, crafting scenes that reflect your unique journey and the milestones that punctuate it.

Make the Most of Your Session

To maximize the value of your senior portrait session, talk about what you want out of the session. Discuss your vision beforehand with family and friends. Be sure to let your photographer know what you want too!  Bring a selection of outfits that reflect the various facets of your personality and interests, one outfit may call out to you more on the day or in the location of the session.

Relax for Authentic Expressions

A relaxed atmosphere is pivotal for eliciting natural expressions that make portraits mean more than just a photograph. The session should be fun, and you should be comfortable. This relaxed state fosters expressions that are not forced or artificial, but rather spontaneous and genuine, imbuing the portraits with life. Think about who will be there and where it will be. Will you feel comfortable? You will have better results the more comfortable you are.

The endpoint of this relaxed photography session is a collection of images that authentically represent the senior's personality and style. Such portraits will stand the test of time, evoking the same feelings and memories many years later. Through natural, unfeigned expressions and a poised demeanor, these photographs transcend mere images; they become cherished keepsakes, perpetuating the essence of a significant life milestone.
