A Lake St. Clair Wedding on the Infinity Ovations Yacht
Some weddings are beautiful because of the setting. Others because of the people. This one had both.
We recently had the honor of photographing a wedding aboard the Infinity Ovations Yacht in St. Clair Shores, and it was everything a celebration should be: elegant, emotional, and unforgettable.
Getting Ready in Detroit
The day began at the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit, where the couple and their wedding party got ready for the celebration ahead. The energy in the room was full of anticipation—laughter mixing with a few quiet nerves. It was the perfect backdrop for capturing those early details: the dress, the shoes, the toasts, and the hugs from family before heading out toward Lake St. Clair.
A Ceremony by the Water
From there, the wedding moved to the shores of Lake St. Clair, where the couple exchanged vows with the Infinity Ovations docked right at the ceremony site. The water sparkled behind them, the breeze carried just the right amount of energy, and every detail felt intentional. There were moments during the ceremony when tears fell, and you could feel how deeply meaningful this day was for everyone present.
From Photographers to Friends
We had spent the last year getting to know this couple as they planned their wedding, and by the time the big day arrived, it didn’t feel like we were just the photographers. It felt like we were guests and friends, sharing in the joy and excitement of a day we’d all been looking forward to together. That closeness made the images even more special—we were able to capture moments from the inside out, rather than just observing from the sidelines.
A Cruise to Remember
After the ceremony, guests stepped aboard the Infinity Ovations Yacht for an evening cruise across Lake St. Clair. The staff were phenomenal—professional, attentive, and seamless in making sure everything ran smoothly. The yacht glided past the shoreline, down toward Belle Isle, before circling back as the sun set. On board, the celebration was full of laughter, dancing, and stories being shared. The food was first-rate, as elegant as the atmosphere itself.
An Unforgettable Ending
As the night drew to a close, the couple shared one final dance—just the two of them—after their guests had departed. It was quiet, tender, and the perfect ending to a day that had been filled with so much life and love. Watching them hold each other in that moment, surrounded by the stillness of the water, was a reminder of what weddings are really about: connection, commitment, and joy.
