From “I Do” to Round Two: A Magical Post-Wedding Session at Paint Creek

Some love stories deserve a second chapter — and that’s exactly what this beautiful couple created when they asked us to photograph their post-wedding session in Rochester, Michigan.

We first met them during their engagement shoot, and from the very first click, we knew they are a great couple. Their chemistry was effortless, their laughter contagious, and the connection genuine. After they had a destination wedding and worked with a different photographer, they reached back out to us with a heartfelt request: Could we capture the wedding portraits they didn’t get the wedding?

We couldn’t say yes fast enough.

We began their session beneath the sprawling oak trees of Rochester Municipal Park, where soft shade and golden light danced together. It was peaceful and romantic — the kind of setting that makes you slow down and just take it all in.

Passers by kept telling them congratulations and how great they looked. We couldn’t agree more, they are easy to photograph. These two slipped right back into the natural rhythm we remembered from their engagement shoot. The result? Some of the most authentic, joy-filled images we’ve ever taken.

Some magic happened when we waded into Paint Creek — a quiet, meandering river that winds its way from Lake Orion through Rochester and into the Clinton River. Wedding dresses aren’t usually made for rivers, but this bride was game to have fun. As the evening light filtered through the trees, they splashed, twirled, and held each other like they had just said “I do” all over again.

Here’s what they had to say about their experience:

“Jodi and Bryan are an amazing team! They took our engagement photos as well as our post wedding photos. They go above and beyond to get the perfect shot. Not only are their photos absolutely amazing — they are the sweetest people who actually care about you and the photos! We cannot recommend them enough and will never use another photographer 🩷 100/10!”

We’re so honored they trusted us to help write another part of their story.
